The Android Security Bulletin has been updated with information of the new patch. As usual, the security patch is divided into two levels dated 2018-06-01 and 2018-06-05. The former security patch comprises of fixes for 20 vulnerabilities, and the latter has patches for 38 vulnerabilities. Clearly, the 2018-06-05 patch will secure an Android device the most. The above-mentioned Pixel and Nexus devices will be getting the June 5 security patch.
The addressed vulnerabilities have been classified from high to critical. The most harmful vulnerability, if made use of, allowed a remote attacker to run arbitrary code through the means of a crafted file. This vulnerability was discovered in the media framework and has been fixed. Google isn't aware of exploits of any of the fixed issues.
Apart from the Android Security Bulletin, Google also maintains a Pixel/Nexus Security Bulletin which lists the changes made to the Nexus and Pixel smartphones with the monthly security updates. The functional improvements mentioned by Google include improvements to Bluetooth LE for all devices, improved WiFi connectivity for all Pixel smartphones, and enhancements to the Always On Display and proximity sensor for the Pixel 2 XL.
The security patch updates are currently rolling out. In case you haven't received the update yet, you can manually pull it by heading to Settings > System > System updates > Check for updates. Google has posted the system and OTA images for those who wish to sideload the update. The June security patch has also been uploaded to AOSP.
