Redmi 6 Pro Announced With 5.84" FHD+ Notched Display, Snapdragon 625, Dual Cameras & More

Xiaomi has announced a new mid-range smartphone. The Redmi 6 Pro is the highest end model in the Redmi 6 series, which also includes the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, both of which were released earlier this month. The Redmi 6 Pro comes with a 5.84-inch 19:9 notched display with Full HD+ (2280x1080) resolution. Despite making use of the notch to stretch the display to the edges, there is a sizeable chin at the bottom.

Xiaomi has once again used the Snapdragon 625. The Redmi 6 Pro is the eighth smartphone Xiaomi is shipping with the 'tried and trusted' Snapdragon 625. There are three RAM and storage variants: 3GB+32GB, 4GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. All the models have support for microSD up to 256GB for storage expansion.

The Redmi 6 Pro sports a dual camera setup at the back. The primary shooter is a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 1.25-micrometer pixel size. The secondary 5MP sensor is made by Samsung and has an aperture of f/2.2 and 1.12-micrometer pixel size. The selfie shooter is a 5MP sensor. Xiaomi claims to be using AI for scene detection and portraits. The front camera can click portrait shots and there is support for AI face unlock.

The Redmi 6 Pro will be available in four colours: Rose Gold, Gold, Blue, Black and Red. The phone is currently only available in China, and it will go on sale tomorrow.
