July Security Patch Rolling Out To Pixel & Nexus Devices, OTA & System Images Available

At the same time around as the release of the Android P DP4, Google also started rolling out the July security patch to the Nexus and Pixel smartphones. The build numbers for this month's security update are as follows:

• Nexus 6P (Oreo 8.1) — OPM6.171019.030.E1
• Nexus 5X (Oreo 8.1) — OPM6.171019.030.E1
• Pixel (Oreo 8.1) — OPM4.171019.021.P1
• Pixel XL (Oreo 8.1) — OPM4.171019.021.P1
• Pixel 2 (Oreo 8.1) — OPM2.171026.006.G1 (Unlocked), OPM4.171019.021.R1 (T-Mobile)
• Pixel 2 XL (Oreo 8.1) — OPM2.171026.006.H1 (Unlocked), OPM4.171019.021.R1 (T-Mobile)
• Pixel C (Oreo 8.1) — OPM4.171019.021.N1

The July security patch is live on the Android Security Bulletin. In all, 11 issues have been fixed in the patch dated July 1, and 32 have been resolved in the July 5 patch. Google has marked the addressed vulnerabilities from high to critical. The company isn't aware of any user affected by the exploit of the fixed vulnerabilities.

Aside from the Android Security Bulletin, Google also maintains the Pixel/Nexus Security Bulletin where security vulnerabilities and functional improvements related to the Pixel and Nexus devices are detailed. The July patch consists of one functional improvement for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The WiFi connection consistency has been improved with certain routers.

The July patch is currently rolling out via OTA. If you haven't received the update yet, you can try downloading it manually from Settings > System > System updates. You can also sideload the update using the OTA and system images linked below.
