[UPDATE: Rescheduled] OnePlus 6T Launch Scheduled For October 30

We already know quite a bit about OnePlus' upcoming smartphone, the 6T. The device will be having a fingerprint scanner embedded under the screen and a larger battery (rumoured to be 3700mAh). The 3.5mm headphone jack has been dropped and OnePlus has also confirmed that the 6T won't come with IP certification and wireless charging. While confirming the in-display fingerprint sensor, OnePlus had shared a teaser image of the 6T's lock screen. The date on the screenshot of the lock screen was October 17, and that lead us to believe that the device will be launched on the mentioned date. OnePlus has just proved our speculations to be wrong.

In a tweet, the company revealed that the OnePlus 6T will be launched in an event in New York on October 30. The Indian launch will also be held on the same day. OnePlus' India website mentions that the 6T will be unveiled at KDJW Stadium (inside Indira Gandhi International Stadium) in New Delhi on October 30 at 8:30pm. 

For the global launch event in NYC, OnePlus already has the tickets up on sale. The tickets start at $20 and each attendee will be given a bag of goodies which OnePlus claims will have "treats that far exceed the price of the ticket." Indian OnePlus fans will be able to buy tickets starting October 17, 10am IST. Each ticket costs Rs 999.

OnePlus will also be streaming the event on its website and YouTube channel.

Apple will be hosting an event on October 30 where it is expected to launch new iPads and laptops. Apple's event is sure to get a lot of media coverage, and this could potentially affect the attention the OnePlus 6T would have gotten. To avoid this, OnePlus has pulled the 6T's launch event a day ahead to October 29. The rescheduling might cause inconvenience to several people who had booked tickets for the original event. OnePlus has acknowledged this and has announced plans to make things right. Firstly, if you feel you will not be able to make it to the launch, you can apply for a full refund. Secondly, OnePlus has announced it will bear all the extra charges you might incur to change your plans. This includes hotel accommodations and travel expenses. OnePlus employees will be in touch with those who had reserved tickets for the October 30 event.
