MiXplorer arrives on Play Store as a paid app
MiXplorer is the go-to file manager for many. The app offers you a number of features including theming customizations, access to cloud services, tabbed browsing and root access. You can also pack/unpack a wide range of file extensions; there is also an inbuilt media player, text/code editor and support for accessing FTP/HTTP/TCP servers. The app is completely free (there are some paid extensions on the Play Store, though) and the developer, HootanParsa, is very responsive to user complaints and feedback. As a result of this, MiXplorer has amassed a large user base on the XDA forums. The forum thread for MiXplorer is among the most active on XDA with nearly 3000 pages of comments and replies.
Up until now, the only official source for downloading MiXplorer was the XDA forums. HootanParsa has now made the 'Silver' edition of his app available on the Play Store. MiXplorer Silver is a bundle of the standard version of MiXplorer with Archive and SMB2 add-ons and the latest language resources. MiXplorer will continue to be available for free from XDA, the paid version of the app is for showing your support towards the development of the file manager. It's worth noting here that the package names of MiXplorer (com.mixplorer) and MiXplorer Silver (com.mixplorer.silver) are different so MiXplorer Silver will install as a separate app.
MiXplorer Silver can be purchased off the Play Store for Rs 299 or $4.79. If you have wanted a Play Store version of MiXplorer, this is your chance, and you can also use this as an opportunity to thank HootanParsa for his seven years of work on the file explorer. You can also donate to the developer using Bitcoin and PayPal.
