POCO F1 gets 960fps video recording and Super Low-Light Mode with latest MIUI 10 beta
The POCO F1 is getting better and better. Xiaomi sub-brand POCO is leaving no stone unturned in making its first smartphone a compelling buy versus the competition. The OnePlus 6T had an advantage over the POCO F1 in the camera department. The device supported higher frame rate slow-motion videos at 480fps and had a dedicated mode for night-time photography. The latest beta update for the POCO F1 levels things up.
Xiaomi has just released an MIUI 10 beta update for the POCO F1 which adds a new 'super low-light mode' and the ability to record 960fps videos at HD resolution. Both these features are likely an extension from the Mi Mix 3. The POCO F1 and the Mix 3 have Sony's IMX363 as the primary shooter at the back. The camera sensor cannot record at true 960fps, so its likely that Xiaomi is using software to interpolate the 240fps video to 960fps.
You can download the MIUI 10 beta for the POCO F1 using the link given below. A guide for installing the beta build can be found here.
Note: The MIUI 10 beta linked above is a recovery flashable ZIP. You can install the beta even if you havent't unlocked the bootloader of your POCO F1. For detailed instructions, check out this detailed guide.
