Xiaomi Mi A1 gets Android 9 Pie beta with FM Radio, stable update to roll out soon

Xiaomi has begun testing Android 9 Pie for the Mi A1. Earlier today we were tipped of the beta update and the tipster sent us some screenshots to verify his claims. The update is currently rolling out to a select bunch of closed beta testers. The update size is 1.3GB and it carries the build number PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.2.0.PDHMIFK.

The Android 9 update not only brings with it all the Pie goodies but also the FM Radio functionality. In Nougat and Oreo, users could access FM Radio through a hidden menu but that was a convoluted process that you don't expect an average user to follow. We have already covered that all Android One devices eligible for the Pie update should get it by the end of the year. Going by the past, the beta testing for Android version updates for the Mi A1 has only lasted a couple of days, so the stable update should be rolled out by the next week.

A user on the XDA forums of the Mi A1 has posted the flashable ZIP for the Pie beta. You can download the build from here and flash it via recovery mode.
