Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro cross 1 Crore sales mark, Xiaomi discounts price in celebration
Xiaomi's Redmi Note line of phones has garnered a massive following in India as a result of its incredible performance at a budget. The latest addition to the Redmi Note series—the Redmi Note 6 Pro—was just launched in India, but its predecessors—the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro—are still being sold. The latter were launched in February 2018 and have done exceedingly well in sales. Xiaomi has just shared that the Redmi Note 5 duo has been sold over 1,00,00,000 times.
To celebrate the feat, Xiaomi has discounted the price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model of the Redmi Note 5 Pro has received a price cut of Rs 3,000 (as compared to the price at launch) and is currently being sold at Rs 12,999. The price of the higher end variant of the phone with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage has been decreased by Rs 4,000 (as compared to the price at launch) and is presently at Rs 13,999.
This is the second price cut that the Redmi Note 5 Pro has received in the last two months. The first price cut was done in November to celebrate Xiaomi's top rank in the country for five successive quarters. The cost of the two variants of the Redmi Note 5 Pro was then reduced by Rs 1,000.

It isn't clear whether the price cuts are temporary or permanent but the latter is likely. The Redmi Note 5 Pro can be purchased off Flipkart, Amazon, mi.com and offline retail stores. The discounted prices are applicable to both online and offline retail chains.
